I selected a bunch of cards. No context menu appeared.

is this reproducable in all your spaces/browsers? or just in this particular space?

It was only this specific instance. I could reproduce it consistently there even after reload.
I copied the cards to another space because I wanted to work with them. At some point I came back and now everything is working fine. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Maybe we can close soon if I don’t see it again.
I’ve added a potential fix that might handle this case if it shows up in the future
